Power factor correction is a crucial element in the efficient usage of power in your system. It reduces the total amount of current drawn from the source, which in turn can lead to reduced energy costs, improved voltage levels in your electrical system, and increased load capacity. The KVB series capacitors are specifically designed to help achieve these benefits.
The KVB series offers a wide range of kVAR ratings from 0.5 to 200 and accommodates both single and three-phase systems. With voltage options from 208V to 600V and standard frequency of 60Hz, these capacitors are suited for a variety of applications including individual motor loads, motor control centres, and distribution networks.
These capacitors offer a range of customization options, including fused or non-fused units, with options for blown fuse indicators, contactors, and timers. For demanding environments, the 4/12 and 4X enclosures provide added protection.
The enclosures are constructed from heavy #16 gauge steel with a powder-coated ASA 61 finish. The design includes an "L" shaped cover for easy access, suitable for both wall and floor mounting.
The capacitors use metallized polypropylene dielectric film and a thermosetting polymer resin fill, ensuring no fluids or PCBs. They feature pressure-sensitive interrupters and discharge resistors that reduce residual voltage to less than 50 volts within one minute of de-energization.
Designed to operate in temperatures from -40° C to + 40° C, these capacitors are suitable for various environments. With less than ½ watt per kVAR, they are also efficient.
